Our Story
Joel grew up in Bridgetown where he developed a love for rolling hills and cold misty winters. When we started looking for a place in the country, we considered a few different towns, but kept coming back to Bridgetown.
When we found the property, it had one small cabin on it, sitting alone in a paddock. No power, no water, no driveway. It needed alot of work but what it had was position — perched on the side of a hill, looking straight out over the valley.

We gutted the original cabin and rebuilt the interior: kitchen, fireplace, a table for cosy dinners. Then we built a second cabin alongside it for the bedrooms and bathroom, and connected the two with a deck that opens the whole place up to the view.
During the week, we run a landscape architecture studio, See Design Studio in Fremantle, where we live with our two kids. We approached this project the same way we approach our all work: thinking about how people actually use a space, and working with the site to create something beautiful.
